Tertullian (155-240 AD), <\/strong>considered the founder of Latin theology, articulated critical concepts like the Trinity. Born in Carthage, Tertullian framed Christian theology in legal and philosophical terms that engaged with the dominant Roman intellectual tradition. Cyprian of Carthage (200-258 AD) was an influential bishop focused on church administration and unity. His positions on the authority of bishops and the role of baptism and reconciliation helped establish important organizational structures and practices. The enduring legacy of these African philosopher-theologians shaped the theological landscape for centuries to come across Christendom. Their intellect and conviction contributed to defining central tenets of the faith we still profess today.
